For the week of February 9th:
This is the Coen brothers most bland film as of late. I was not a huge fan of the story and felt so sorry for Larry, the main character and all of the horrible stuff he had happen to him. I was left in my movie seat squirming because of discomfort.
This is one of the worst Vince Vaughn films as of late. Jason Bateman and Jon Favreau were the saving grace of the film to make it worth while. Overall, I was underwhelmed. What did you think?
I want to see this film now that it is on DVD. I plan on seeing it because my wife and I are fans of Dylan Walsh, even though it was likely one of the worst remakes of thrillers. This week was a horrible week for releases on DVD in my opinion.
Streaming Starting February 12th:
Ah, Russell Crowe with Al Pacino in a Michael Mann film! What more could you ask for? I thought this film was wonderfully directed, scripted and had two wonderfully powerful actors. If you have not seen this yet, now is your chance.
Aside from The Jerk, this is one of the funniest Steve Martin films. This is a classic film and now you can watch it on Netflix streaming so sit back and enjoy.
I saw previews for this film from 2008 on a number of DVD’s but never saw it playing in theaters. Kim Basinger and Charlize Theron are perfect reasons to watch this movie aside from the fact it is full of intrigue and romance. If you have seen this please let me know if I should watch it or not waste my time.
I still have to see A Serious Man…..that aside seeing this desperately makes me want to revisit “The Insider”. What a brilliant effing movie!
I’ll definitely check out The Insider since I haven’t seen it yet. Seems like a powerful combo (Pacino, Crowe, and Mann).
