Mobsters Rating: See that date on the calendar? It’s January again, and apparently that means it’s time for another low-rent horror film featuring everyone’s favorite supernatural diva, Satan. Of all the various prophecies and alleged ancient texts related to the Antichrist and the end of days, there has to be ... Read More

Mobster's Rating: Welcome to Lars Von Trier’s Melancholia, where the end of the world never looked so pretentious. Von Trier, that Dane of the Dismal, delivers another art house exercise in glossy banality that's much less profound then it thinks it is. His last, Anti-Christ, had Charlotte Gainsbourg committing genital mutilation ... Read More
Mobster's Rating: After seeing those flashy trailers for Paul W.S.Anderson’s The Three Musketeers—complete with steam-punk airships and Milla Jovovich’s bouyant corset-fu—I found myself wondering ‘Did they adapt the novel or the candy bar?’ Now, having the seen the full brunt of Anderson’s opus, that potentially marvelous headline is spoiled. Woof, woof! Red Riding Hood wants to be Twilight but it's more like Twi-lite. There's no wolf here, just a mangy dog of a movie.

Okay, it's more of a rant but it's my party and I'll whine if I want to. Minor spoilers for the entire SAW series. And in case you don't want to read it: the movie sucks. Bad.

Against his better judgment, Jon went to the midnight show of the new Josh Brolin/comic book film Jonah Hex. He regrets it immensely.
Appaloosa looked the kind of movie that was going to be impossible not to like. A western with the likes of Ed Harris, Viggo Mortensen, Jeremy Irons, and Renee Zellweger? This was not a long shot. None of these actors really make bad movies or play roles that aren’t interesting.

Shrek Forever After...........exactly how many endings to Shrek will there be? The first two films were beacons of wonder, comedy, and smarts with a heart. A huge achievement for Dreamworks and two wondrous additions into the animation world duly enjoyable for adult and child.
