Depp is one of the few real character actors out there doing worthwhile today.  His affair with Tim Burton and all of his magical characters, not to mention his most notorious role as Captain Jack Sparrow Depp has gone deeper than most actors would have been able to take them. He’s played roles that may have been a bit outside the box for some, but for him suited his ingenuity and the magic he brings to every role he’s ever played.  One year he’s the demon barber of fleet street and the next he’s John Dillinger, who can’t respect that versatility?  Here was MY list of Johnny Depp’s Top Ten Movies, but you are the readers and you voted and here’s YOUR results!

    Definitely agree with Fear and Loathing as his best role. He capture the sporadic ways of Hunter S. Thompson really well. Is there a reason why Blow is listed twice?

    You missed Nick Corso from The Ninth Gate. That was one of my favorite Johnny Depp roles. It was just on again last Friday night!

    Aw, I was hoping Cry Baby was going to pull it off. Oh well. Seeing Ed Wood that high up makes me happy regardless.

    I’d probably put What’s Eating Gilbert Grape and Edward Scissorhands above some of the others, but purley because I have more of a personal attachment to them. Sometimes it’s hard to differentiate between a film I think is of better quality and a film that I link with nostalgia :)

      I think What’s Eating Gilbert Grape was all about Leo, though Johnny was fine. I’d like to see him and Leo team up again.

    I thought Don Juan DeMarco was quite charming and it was a real treat to watch him and Marlon Brando go back-and-forth on screen.
