Welcome to another edition of The Trailer Zone, but instead of batching a bunch of trailers together, I present a special edition. Now, what would warrant a special edition, exactly? Well, a Hobo with a Shotgun of course! Based off the fan-made trailer that played before Grindhouse at SXSW a few years back, the movie version has taken it to a whole new level of both violence and taking the challenge of making Rutger Hauer a hero instead of a villain.
Rutger Hauer stars as the title character, and he’s exactly what it sounds; a hobo with a shotgun, killing crime in a city full of drug dealers, tweekers, and all around bad people. However in the true exploitation spirit, the kills are over the top, the blood flows freely, and the effects look to be practical. Best of all, Rutger Hauer spends the first part of the trailer delivering a speech that is actually, despite itself, damn powerful.
The exploitation over the top grindhouse style is apparently back folks, so I hope you’re ready for it. Check out the trailer below (this trailer is not rated, so expect a bunch of gore).
No idea on if this is going to be theatrical or straight to DVD, but I’ll keep an eye on it as time goes on. If you don’t trust me to (and I don’t blame you), you can go to the movie’s Official Site and do so yourself.

For the record, this will be a full feature movie to be released next year in theatres. I was a featured extra and my husband plays a thug who is shot by the hobo himself. Personally I was never a fan of the gory grindhouse movies but we had so much fun making this one..Jason Eisener is truly a genious and I hope to be called for the next movie he makes, and rest assured there will be more..the trailer has gone viral and the movie will sell out guaranteed!
Great, thanks for the information. What was it like during the shoot?
It was pretty chilly..shooting took place in May and it was rainy as well..Rutger was very cool to watch as were all the actors..we shot in the middle of the night and got to be there for two different nights so it was really exciting..my husband did his shoot in 4 hours and got to have a blood pack for the shotgun blast..the other thug is shown being lifted off his feet in that scene on the trailer..biggest thrill of our lives so far and we can’t wait until it goes to the festivals hopefully close enough to go see it.
This looks like seven kinds of awesome!
