Gwoemul (2006)
In response to last weeks Cloverfield monster, we have one that came slightly before it in 2006 from a Korean flick called Gwoemul or “The Host”. Paragraph Films suggested we check out this similar monster that was described as “AMAZING” and a “running fish”. Upon further research it seems our friend was not only correct, but compelled me enough to look up this film an even watch it. The synopsis is similar to that of Cloverfield. A monster emerges from Seoul’s Han River and focuses its attention on attacking people. I believe a sequel was even made. I can’t attest to the legitimacy of the film, but only say this monster looks impressive and my interest is perked.

It's not the lawyer from Jurassic Park!
It’s a pretty badass monster and it does collect dead humans, mummifies them and hides them in a safe place. On a negative note, that monster died a ridiculous death, getting stabbed in the mouth with a street sign!
Oh by the stars, that sounds hilarious. I really want to see it now.
Cheers for the shout-out Mobsters!
Great Pic – http://www.dreadcentral.com/img/reviews/hostpic1big.jpg
As Castor points out, it’s a pretty badass beast. When you first see it running and thumping it’s way through a crowd you’re just sitting there going “WTF is this?!!? I’m glad I’m not from Seoul”
Sorry for spam-linking today but here’s my review of The Host for anyone interested. http://paragraphfilmreviews.com/2009/12/21/the-host/
I like your linking! lol. It’s always interesting to compare thoughts, especially if you wrote something awhile ago. Sometimes I just repost reviews if they seem at all relevant.
Will be checking those links out ASAP.
And that PIC is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
